Measure the space, not the piece
Check base width as well as height. A short piece on a broad base takes more shelf than a taller, slimmer one, and photographs flatten scale.
Kept with care
A soft dry cloth is enough. Keep plated, painted and antique finishes away from water and polishing paste, which strip the surface rather than clean it.

The phrase covers a lot of ground in most shops: tumbled stones, bracelets, pyramids, spheres, malas. At Svastika it means one thing. The natural stone we work with is wired into trees, twelve inches tall and carrying around three hundred beads, in amethyst, rose quartz, clear quartz, citrine, green jade, lapis lazuli, tiger eye and red jasper. There are no bracelets, no pyramids, no stone balls and no malas, so if that is what brought you here, this is not the right shop.
What the stones are held to mean, and what that is worth
Amethyst is the calm stone in the lore, tied to sleep and a settled head. Rose quartz is love and family feeling. Citrine is the money stone, and green jade is the second one the same tradition names, described as steady increase rather than a windfall. Clear quartz is held to strengthen whatever the others are doing. Lapis lazuli carries clarity, tiger eye protection and focus, red jasper grounding.
Those associations come from vastu, from feng shui and from the crystal healing tradition. They are old, and they are worth knowing, because they are why one stone gets chosen over another and why a piece of stone reads as considered rather than generic. They are not a medical claim and they are not a financial one, and nobody can show you evidence that a stone changed an outcome in a house. Where a seller promises you a result, they are promising something they have no way to deliver. What can honestly be told you is what the stone is and how it looks in a room.

Match the intent, then the wall it stands against. Amethyst for a bedroom or for someone who sleeps badly, rose quartz for a couple or a living room, citrine for a study or a shop counter, tiger eye where the piece should be noticed. Lapis lazuli and amethyst hold their own against dark paint; clear quartz and rose quartz disappear against a pale wall. If it is a gift and you cannot ask, rose quartz and amethyst read clearly to anyone.
They are natural stone, which is why colour and banding vary between pieces and why yours will not match the photograph exactly. To check any tree from any seller, hold a bead against the inside of your wrist: mineral stays cold for several seconds where glass and resin warm almost at once. Perfectly even colour across every bead usually means dye, and perfectly round bubbles held in a bead against a lamp mean glass.
A soft dry brush or cloth, working around the beads rather than pressing on them. Keep the base dry and never run the piece under a tap, because water sits in the wire wrapping and marks the base over time. The wire is meant to be bent, so open out or tighten the spread once the tree is standing where it will live.
