That is a complete, defensible setup. Backdrops, fairy lights and styling props are extras. They are allowed, they just should not crowd out the five.
The ghata is the anchor, not the idol
Most people build the shelf around the murti and add the pot as an afterthought. It is the other way round. Ghatasthapana is where the observance starts, and the pot sits front and centre.
The classic composition is a shopping list you can fill at any market: a large earthen jar of water, twigs of mango and ashoka, betel leaves across the mouth, a small dish of rice, a coconut on top, and a cloth dyed with turmeric tied round the neck. Set it on a lump of river clay. Every element is cheap, organic and returnable, and none of it is plastic.

How to choose a brass Durga idol

- Brass holds heat. Give the lamp a stone or metal coaster, never a cloth.

Build it over nine nights, not in one day
The most common mistake is finishing everything on day one and having nothing left to do for eight days.

For cleaning, lemon and salt or tamarind paste, then rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Water left in the crevices is what causes green spots. Lacquered pieces get a soft dry cloth only, never acid.
Decide once whether you want your brass bright or aged and stick to it. Constant polishing strips the darkening in the recesses that makes detailed work readable, so many collectors polish the raised surfaces and leave the depths alone.
