Every October the same question comes up in every office. What do we send the clients this year?
Most of what gets sent is forgotten by November. The branded diary. The dry fruit box that gets re-gifted twice. The hamper so big it becomes a storage problem in a small flat. Below is the shortlist that avoids all three, with real prices from our Diwali gifts and corporate gifts ranges.

Eight picks, and who each one suits

How to choose, client by client

A client you barely know. Go neutral and useful: an urli, a pooja thali, or a brass loban burner at ₹1,199. These carry the festival without assuming which deity they keep at home. More in loban burners.
An office rather than a person. A desk-scale decor piece: a meenakari elephant, a small horse, a tortoise. It lives in a shared space and nobody has to receive a religious object at work. The table decor range is filtered for this.
A large list. One item under a fixed price, bought properly and packed well. Brass is the traditional Diwali metal because it is considered auspicious, and it also survives twenty years of use, which is the real reason it works as a gift.
What to avoid
- Loud branding. A small engraved mark on the base is fine. A logo across the front is an advertisement, not a gift. Put the branding on the box and the card.
- Perishables you have not tasted. Sweets are lovely and also the most re-gifted category in the country.
- Anything needing assembly, charging or a manual. Nobody wants homework in Diwali week.
- Oversized hampers. If it needs two hands to carry, you have crossed from generous into awkward. One good anchor object and two supporting items is the ceiling. - Alcohol, unless you are certain. Enough Indian households keep a dry Diwali that this is a real risk.
- Late delivery. A gift that lands after the festival reads as an item ticked off a list.
Timing, packaging and lead time
Order 4 to 6 weeks out. Hand-finished brass and plated pieces in quantity are made to order, not pulled off a shelf. Ask for one sample before confirming the full count, because photographs flatten everything.
Ship 7 to 10 days before Diwali. A parcel arriving three days before sits in a pile of forty. One arriving early gets opened on its own.
Spend on the wrapping, not only the object. A good piece in a flimsy printed carton loses half its effect. A modest piece in a cloth pouch with a handwritten name gains more than another ₹500 of product would.
Add 10 percent to your count. Every list grows in the last week, and running short is worse than over-ordering by twenty.
Send it clean. No proposal in the envelope, no renewal call that week. The same gift sent quietly reads as respect. Sent alongside a pitch it reads as a transaction. That change costs nothing and is the whole difference.
What it costs at volume
For 50 clients at ₹1,199 each you are at roughly ₹60,000 before packing. At ₹849 you are near ₹42,000. Twenty urli sets at ₹2,799 for senior accounts only is about ₹56,000. Those three numbers cover most Indian corporate Diwali budgets, and none of them need a hamper.
If your per-head number is genuinely under ₹800, buy clay diyas and sweets from a local maker and put the effort into packaging.
